Disney Cruise Line is expanding with Disney Believe in 2027 and Disney Imagination in Japan in 2029. Explore what these new ships mean for your next vacation..

Meet the Disney Believe: Setting Sail in December 2027.

Disney Cruise Line has been making some exciting announcements, and whether you are a longtime Disney cruiser or have never stepped aboard a cruise ship, there is plenty to look forward to!

With the upcoming Disney Believe and the newly announced Disney Imagination, Disney is continuing to expand its cruise experiences, bringing familiar stories to life while introducing new destinations and opportunities for families to explore the world.

But what does all this mean for travelers planning their next vacation?

Let us take a closer look!

The Disney Believe is preparing for its maiden voyage on December 18, 2027, sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Inspired by stories of hope, possibility, and imagination, this new ship will bring some of Disney's most beloved characters and stories to life.

Guests can look forward to experiences inspired by:

    - Encanto: A Broadway-style stage adaptation featuring the Madrigal family.

    - Frozen: A reimagined dining experience at Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast.

    - Moana: A beautiful Grand Hall inspired by Moana's adventurous spirit.

    - The Little Mermaid: An elegant piano bar called Sea Notes.

    - Snow White: A storybook-inspired lounge called Wishing Well.

The ship will also feature experiences inspired by Pixar favorites, including Inside Out 2 and Toy Story.

With immersive entertainment, imaginative dining, and Disney's signature attention to detail, the Disney Believe promises to bring a new kind of magic to the high seas.

    Where Will Disney Believe Sail?

Following its inaugural voyage, Disney Believe is scheduled to offer four- and five-night Bahamian itineraries and five-night Western Caribbean sailings.

Every itinerary is expected to visit at least one of Disney Cruise Line's exclusive island destinations: Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

For families looking to combine a tropical getaway with Disney entertainment, these shorter itineraries could be an appealing option.

Planning Tip: Disney Believe reservations are opening in phases for eligible returning guests and other qualifying groups. General-public bookings are scheduled to begin October 19, 2026.

If this ship is on your wish list, now is a great time to start considering travel dates, stateroom preferences, and your vacation budget.

Disney Imagination: A New Adventure Begins in Japan

Disney Cruise Line is also preparing to bring its signature storytelling to an exciting new destination!

The newly named Disney Imagination is scheduled to begin sailing from Tokyo in spring 2029.

This ship will be operated by Oriental Land Co., Ltd., the company behind Tokyo Disney Resort, as part of a Disney-branded cruise business in Japan.

One particularly charming detail? Ariel, along with Sebastian and friends, will be featured on the ship's stern.

While additional details about itineraries and onboard experiences are still to come, Disney has shared plans for entertainment, character experiences, family-friendly spaces, and adult-only areas.

For travelers who have dreamed of visiting Japan, this announcement opens up some exciting possibilities.

Imagine exploring Tokyo, experiencing Japanese culture, visiting Tokyo Disney Resort, and incorporating a Disney cruise into a larger vacation.

Specific itineraries and booking dates have not yet been announced, but it is never too early to start dreaming about the possibilities.

Is a Disney Cruise Right for Your Family?

Universal Epic Universe entrance portal. Text reads: "You wonder next which path to chart..."

One of the things that makes Disney Cruise Line unique is that the experience is designed for more than just children.

Families can enjoy entertainment and activities together, while kids, teens, and adults have opportunities to enjoy spaces and experiences designed specifically for them.

A Disney cruise may be especially appealing if you:

    - Love Disney storytelling, characters, and entertainment.

    - Want a vacation with activities for different age groups.

    - Enjoy combining time at sea with exciting destinations.

    - Prefer having dining, entertainment, and many onboard activities included in your cruise fare.

    - Want to experience Disney magic without spending every day in a theme park.

However, Disney Cruise Line is not necessarily the perfect fit for every traveler.

Cruise fares, itineraries, ship features, and available activities vary. Travelers should also consider additional expenses such as gratuities, excursions, specialty experiences, transportation, and travel protection.

The best cruise is not always the newest ship. It is the one that matches your family's interests, travel style, and budget.

    Why Planning Ahead Matters

With new ships comes excitement, and often plenty of questions.

Should you book a new ship or an established favorite? Is a shorter Bahamian sailing enough time to enjoy everything onboard? Would a longer itinerary be better for your family?

And how do you decide which stateroom category makes the most sense?

These are exactly the kinds of questions worth exploring before making a reservation.

At Endless Boundaries Vacations, we believe a great vacation begins with thoughtful planning.

Our travel advisors can help you compare ships, explore itineraries, understand what is included, and consider the details that matter most to your travel party.

Whether you are dreaming about your first Disney cruise or planning your next adventure at sea, we would love to help you explore your options.

    So, Where Would You Sail?

With Disney Cruise Line continuing to grow, we want to know:

Would you rather sail aboard the new Disney Believe from Florida or wait for the opportunity to experience Disney Imagination in Japan?

There is no wrong answer. Every traveler has a different idea of the perfect vacation!
